National Secondary Schools Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC) 2022

We are thrilled to announce that our school’s team has placed second in the PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) division of the National Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC) held in 2022 in Trinidad and Tobago. The NSSEC is an annual event that aims to promote entrepreneurship among hundreds of secondary school students.

The competition encourages students to develop innovative business ideas in a specific market, the market for 2022 was Consumer Tech. These ideas will then be implemented by each team in a simulated environment hosted by Marketplace™. The NSSEC is open to all secondary school students in Trinidad and Tobago, with over 70 schools registering several teams of their students to compete.

Our team of five students participated in the competition, which required them to cultivate various aspects of business to progress in the tournament, such as business management, strategy, marketing, means of production etc. The software used to log decisions assesses business plans/models based on various criteria, including the viability of the business idea, the level of innovation, and the feasibility of the proposed decisions for the business.

We are proud to report that our team’s business plan was impressive, well-researched, and innovative, securing them the second-place spot in the PWC division. Their success is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and dedication to the entrepreneurship field. Though, this success may very well not have been a possibility without the guidance of Mrs. Cassie Saney-Thomas who mentored the team through the entire event as an assiduous Business Teacher. Hence, we wish you a special vote of gratitude Mrs. Saney-Thomas.

Congratulations to our team members Irshad Mohammed (6A), Dylan Ablack (6A), Sjezeh Sandy (6A), Grant Lodhar (6A), and Joshua Jitta (6A)on this significant accomplishment! We are proud of your achievement and look forward to seeing how you will continue to make an impact in the business world.
